Great Prayers

Notes from a sermon by Chip Ingram:

Great prayers are deeply personal.  Great prayers begin and end with God Himself.  Great prayers flow from a passion to know God, to meet with God, and to be known by God.  Great prayers are not routine, they are not about performance.  Great prayers are intimate, and personal, relational, and heartfelt.

Great prayers are birthed in brokenness.  Prayers that get God's attention and that He calls great are free of self confidence, they are characterized by desperate dependency and an overwhelming sense of need.  Brokenness is when you pour out your heart to God.
